“Lord, what fools these mortals be!”
Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the original romantic comedy. Two guys, two girls, a crazy night in the woods and a couple of disgruntled fairies.
Who can’t relate to love turning them into an ass?
With costume and characterization, the cast of eight brings the stage alive with the pulse of a magical night out in Sydney where our production is set.
The four lovers, being four country kids in the big smoke for the weekend, are well out of their comfort zone, lost in the mystical world of Saturday night on the streets and in the venues that are the stages of Sydney’s dance and club culture.
There will be laughter; there will be tears and men in dresses just like in Shakespeare’s day.
Director, Elizabeth Ruth Ross-Ward’s passion is making Shakespeare accessible to everyone.
