Curriculum Relevance:
Science
- inquiry and exploration, problem solving and making informed evidence based decisions. Making Science fun.

A fun filled show with scientific outcomes.

In Science, some opposites attract, while others repel. In this theatrical experience opposites create loads of fun and humour. These two opposites (Ruth and Tim) create great Science experiences with wonderfully visual outcomes and lashings of humorous fun.

Tim thinks Science is rather dull and would much rather play computer games; that is until Ruth sets him and the audience some challenges and shows them how to achieve some really cool outcomes. Using balloons, liquids of different density, edible fruits, corks, colour, common bleach, magnets and even a homemade vortex cannon, Ruth (sometimes with Tim’s assistance and at other times despite his misguided enthusiasm) sets out to prove that objects don’t always do what you expect them to.

With an emphasis on safety and fun in equal proportions, Scien-tastic shows that Science is for everyone, educational as well as loads of fun. It gets students’ brains working, trying to predict the outcome and of course after each experiment Ruth explains the Science behind what they have just seen. These thought provoking, sometimes wacky, scientific exercises use many everyday items as well as things a little out of the ordinary.

The drama, conflict and comedy of theatre are all combined in Scien-tastic to peak students’ interest in the wonderful world of Science today.

Corinne Roberts. K to Year 6. St John Vianney's School. Morisset. NSW. 24/05/2018.

It was great, the experiments were one that the students could replicate at home and they used things that they could find at home. It also tied in well with Science lessons the students do at school. Tim and Ruth were fabulous, very funny, which the students related well with.
