Dance Magic incorporates a fun dance mash-up (medleys) including dances such as the Walk like an Egyptian, Macarena, and Kung Fu Fighting, as well as dance like The Hokey Pokey, and The Twist with slight of hand magic to captivate and enthral the young audience.
The star of the show is Drawing, a magic face that has been sketched onto a pad in front of the children that comes to life, first looking around the room and then talking. This drawing of a cheeky monkey continues to move even when out of Alistair’s hands.
From the moment Monkey's mouth is drawn he starts talking, telling Alistair how he is to be drawn and giving his humorous comments on everything. The hilarious dialogue continues right up until the drawing is torn from the pad and given to an audience member.
Children get to join in all of the dances; doing the actions to the Hokey Pokey, and at other times making up their own dance moves. There are also a number of opportunities for children to join Ben on stage and help him perform his magic tricks.
Dance Magic combines humour, audience participation, surprise, magic and of course dance in this most enjoyable performance.
