Variety is without a doubt the key to this show’s continuing success. There are stories about dinosaurs, Africa, a fractured fairytale, an Aesop’s fable and the issue of what to be when you grow up. There are shadow, glove, rod and hand puppets as well as a humanette (six year old Junior) who hilariously explores his career options. The zany marionette cabaret finale is a memorable ending to this energetic performance.
Always a highlight of the show, the audience participation segment sees two students on stage making their own puppet. Using two paper plates, students only need to make two folds, three cuts and ten staples to produce this great puppet with a moving mouth. It all takes about six minutes and they are six of the funniest minutes in the show.
Be warned, your students will want to make their own paper plate puppet straight after the show and with a little more time, imagination and a few recycled materials the results will be amazing.
Performer Jared Morgan, graduated from NIDA in 2002 after which he spent two years performing in Singapore. Over the past six years Jared has starred in two feature films, directed shows and toured with School Performance Tours to schools across Australia.

"Amazingly funny" was a common student response. Included some features of pantomime which the kinders especially enjoyed, for example, calling out "it's a trap". The shadow puppets were very popular when they were discussed in class. Jared was very expressive and clear. To quote the students "the guys voices were awesome", "his mood changes were great". The performer answered the students questions after the show in a very engaging and educational way.
